Christie & Joe

Christie and Joe had one of the most beautiful and classic weddings I have ever shot at the Timacuan Golf and Country Club. My beautiful couple met several years back while Joe was serving. After falling madly in love, they were blessed with two little ones and unfortunately didn’t have the time to plan a wedding. Joe had always promised Christie though that one day she would have her dream wedding and he most definitely made good on his promise.
Our day started off with my second shooter/assistant Laura joining along as we shot Christie and Joe’s details. While upstairs doing one last rehearsal run through with David, we thoughtfully captured Christie’s wedding gown next to her daughter’s flower girl dress, stunning engagement ring, and just absolutely all of the details. Christie even had two, yes two!, pairs of Cinderellalike heals. My favorite detail of all though had to be her broach bouquet. Every silver broach was neatly placed to create the most magical bouquet. What an exquisite twist on such a critical item!
After the rehearsal, both my bride and groom started getting ready in their respective rooms. The men’s locker room is such a neat spot and features a lounge to relax in. From dart boards to golf trophies, the locker room is truly a man cave. Before Christie and her girls finished up getting ready, I had to capture just a handful of shots of her daughter in her gown. Seriously – how sweet is she!
With the ceremony time approaching, we headed up to get ready for their walk down the aisle. Tears flooded the eyes of guests as they watched Christie take her last walk as a single lady down the aisle, but truly everyone knew her heart has always and will always belong to her darling Joe. Throughout the ceremony Christie held back tears. After “I do’s” and a beautiful kiss shared, guests departed to cocktail hour while we began capturing formal portraits against the arch.
Stormy weather may be worrisome, but to me it means we will have cloud coverage, soft light, and stunning newlywed shots. I loved the variety of landscape portraits and close ups we accomplished out on the golf course. Christie and Joe couldn’t help, but laugh and smile at one another as they realized they were officially Mr. and Mrs.
Their reception was just as beautiful as their ceremony. From candlelit table décor to glass chandeliers, every detail was magical. Joe surprised everyone half way through the night by bringing out ugly Christmas sweaters for him and his groomsmen. Our night ended with the two and their two little ones being sent off with sparklers. Truly the perfect ending to a fairytale wedding.
