How They Met and Got Engaged: A Magical Proposal in Ireland
Their love story actually began on a magical trip to Ireland on December 27, 2018, where Gustavo proposed at the breathtaking Cliffs of Moher. Katelind had originally surprised Gus with the trip for his birthday that October since they were already heading to Iceland for Christmas, but unbeknownst to her, a friend had leaked the surprise, allowing Gustavo to secretly plan the proposal all along. Due to COVID, the couple officially eloped in the California Redwoods on March 12, 2021, sharing an intimate ceremony with just the two of themselves.
A Vintage-Inspired Anniversary Reception in Dade City
Fast forward to their anniversary celebration, the day was all about throwing a big party with their closest friends and family. Since they had already tied the knot, they skipped the formal ceremony entirely, welcoming guests straight into a festive cocktail hour at The Edison Barn, followed by a reception dinner, heartfelt speeches, cake cutting, and plenty of dancing. Their vision came to life featuring a vintage twist, styled with gold candlesticks, hurricane glass, white candles, and gorgeous floral centerpieces of eucalyptus, anemones, white roses, and blue thistle. It was the ultimate way to honor their journey and celebrate their marriage surrounded by the people they love most at a stunning Dade City venue.
